| Canucks re-sign C Lindgren, D Sami Salo
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) - The Vancouver Canucks on Thursday signed center Mats Lindgren and defenseman Sami Salo, a pair of restricted free agents. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed, although the Canucks said that Salo's deal was for two years. The 28-year-old Lindgren played 54 games for the Canucks last season and had five goals and nine assists. The native of Sweden also has played for the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders and has 54 goals and 74 assists in 387 NHL games. Salo, also 28, played in 79 games in 2002-03 and established career highs with nine goals, 21 assists, 30 points and 10 penalty minutes. A native of Finland, Salo was acquired from the Ottawa Senators prior to last season. In 274 NHL games, Salo has 28 goals and 71 assists.
