| Jogger hit by lightning survives
MERSEYSIDE, England, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Campbell Gillespie says his days of trying to be the center of attention are over after being struck by lightning as he jogged in a Merseyside, England, park. "I think I will be at the back of the group, a listener rather than a talker," Gillespie told Tuesday's London Telegraph. BizVantage Like a personalized newsletter for business, investment or technology. "I want to take time to appreciate what I have." Gillespie was in a coma for a week after he was struck by lightning Aug. 10. He was hit in the neck, fell into a deep puddle and would have drowned if his friends hadn't pulled him out. "A friend running ahead of me says he heard a massive bang and saw me flying through the air," Gillespie said. "I had a feeling of pride that I had survived and beaten the odds." Doctors who treated Gillespie at Fazakerley Hospital said he looked as though he had been hit by a truck.
