Strong, easy-to-use secure messaging solutions will privacy-protect

email and documents while enabling rapid and easy HIPAA compliance

ValueOptions, the largest privately held behavioral health managed care company in the country, today announced that it entered into a secure messaging agreement with Secure Data in Motion, dba Sigaba(R), the leading provider of secure message management solutions. Under terms of the contract, ValueOptions will use Sigaba's secure messaging product to communicate protected health information, as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), amongst ValueOptions employees and its business partners.

"We chose Sigaba based on its ease-of-use, rock solid security and ability to scale without bound," said Mark Pittman, vice president of systems technology, ValueOptions. "Of the products we looked at, Sigaba stood out as the strongest overall. One powerful feature unique to Sigaba is that users simply continue to use their email as they always have done, with the same application and email box. It's easy and transparent to them."

Pittman continued: "Ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of patient-specific information is a top priority for our company and Sigaba allows us to do so simply and easily, without disrupting any of our current business processes."

ValueOptions has rolled out Sigaba secure messaging technology to its service centers around the country as well as numerous ongoing business partners. Deployment was fast and easy, and the secure messaging solutions require little management and maintenance. The Sigaba Gateways allow ValueOptions to implement a configurable set of policies to manage the encryption and decryption of messages across the organization while Sigaba plug-ins extend that security to its communications with business partners.

"Our work with ValueOptions is an excellent example of how Sigaba technology can help a healthcare organization meet and even exceed regulatory requirements without disruption while leveraging an existing technology base," said Sigaba CEO Robert E. Cook. "ValueOptions is an important customer and valued partner as we work together to achieve the goals of HIPAA."
