ZEBULON, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Brendan Harris had a pair of RBI to lead the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx past the Carolina Mudcats, 3-1, in the completion of a suspended game from last night. Harris laced run-scoring doubles in the first and third innings and Ray Sadler doubled him home to cap the two-run third. Felix Sanchez (1-0) threw three scoreless innings of relief, scattering three hits and striking out three, to pick up the win and Jason Karnuth worked a scoreless ninth inning to record his seventh save for West Tenn. Ryan Theriot stole a pair of bases and scored twice for the Diamond Jaxx, who improved to 22-26 away from home. Drew Niles and Matt Padgett each had a pair of hits and Brandon Harper had an RBI single for Carolina. Steve Kent (4-5) surrendered three runs and four hits in three innings to suffer the loss for the Mudcats, who lost for just the 10th time in 52 games when out-hitting their opponents.

WEST TENN (CUBS) 3, CAROLINA (MARLINS) 1 (9 INNINGS)


ZEBULON, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Brendan Harris drove home two runs in the top of the ninth inning to give the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx a win over the Carolina Mudcats, 3-1, in nine innings. After Lukas McKnight, pinch-hitter Casey Kopitzke and Aron Weston hit back-to-back-to-back singles to load the bases in the ninth inning, Harris, who had a pair of RBI in the first game, plated McKnight and Kopitzke with a single up the middle, giving West Tenn a 3-1 lead. Jason Dubois went 3-for-4 and Josh Arteaga doubled and scored, tying the game at 1-1, for the Diamond Jaxx. Jason Karnuth (2-2) hurled two scoreless innings and struck out three to pick up the win for West Tenn, which has won three of its last four games. Arteaga, who started the game at second base, came in to pitch in the ninth and issued a walk in 2/3 of an inning to pick up the save for the Diamond Jaxx. Drew Niles tripled to lead off the third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Josh Wilson for the only Carolina run. Frank Gracesqui (0-2) surrendered two runs and four hits in an inning of work to suffer the loss for the Mudcats, who have lost four of their last six games.

CHATTANOOGA (REDS) 4, BIRMINGHAM (WHITE SOX) 2


CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Dane Sardinha drove in three runs to support seven strong innings by Ryan Mottl in the Chattanooga Lookouts' 4-2 victory over the Birmingham Barons. Sardinha lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning and doubled in two runs in the fourth to give Chattanooga a 4-1 lead. Mottl (5-4) allowed two runs and six hits with five strikeouts to win his third straight decision. Kris Keller got his first save with one scoreless inning and the Lookouts broke a three-game slide. Jon Hamilton hit a solo homer to lead the attack for Birmingham, which had won four its previous four meetings with Chattanooga. Neal Cotts (8-4) gave up four runs and eight hits in six innings, fanning four and walking two in a losing effort.

ORLANDO (DEVIL RAYS) 4, JACKSONVILLE (DODGERS) 1


JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Frank Moore and Dan Grummitt each had a pair of RBI to lead the Orlando Rays past the Jacksonville Suns, 4-1. Moore opened the scoring with a two-run single in the third inning and Grummitt laced a triple in the fourth to plate two more runs. Jesus Feliciano and Amado German each singled and scored a run for Orlando. Starter Travis Minix struck out three in three scoreless innings, but was not involved in the decision for the Rays. Alex Santos (2-1) allowed one run and three hits in two innings to pick up the win for Orlando and Josh Parker worked two hitless innings and struck out three to record his second save for the Rays, who won for just the second time in their last 10 games. After Reggie Abercrombie reached with a base hit in the fourth inning, Nick Alvarez singled him home to plate the only Jacksonville run. Will McCrotty (1-2) yielded four runs and five hits in six innings to take the loss for the Suns, who lost for just the second time in their last nine games.

MOBILE (PADRES) 3, HUNTSVILLE (BREWERS) 1


MOBILE, Alabama (Ticker) -- Chris Rojas and three relievers combined on a four-hitter as the Mobile BayBears topped the Huntsville Stars, 3-1. Rojas (5-6) yielded two hits and fanned five through 5 1/3 innings to earn the win. Rusty Tucker finished with a perfect ninth, striking out two to earn his 24th save. Jake Gautreau ripped a two-run double and Vince Faison added an RBI single for Mobile, which improved to 5-9 vs. Huntsville. Daryl Clark knocked in the only run of the night for the Stars, who have scored just nine runs in their last six losses. Ben Hendrickson (4-2), who struck out eight hitters, gave up three runs and five hits in seven innings to suffer his first loss since April 9.

TENNESSEE (CARDINALS) 8, GREENVILLE (BRAVES) 1


KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Rhett Parrott pitched seven strong innings and Papo Bolivar homered as the Tennessee Smokies defeated the Greenville Braves, 8-1. Parrott (7-9) allowed a run, scattered six hits and struck out five to pick up the win. Bolivar, who also doubled in the seventh inning, clubbed his fourth home run of the year in the opening inning, a three-run shot. Corey Erickson produced a run-scoring groundout in the fifth inning before launching his 13th home run in the eighth for Tennessee, which improved to .500 (27-27) at Smokies Park. Starter Daniel Curtis had a pair of hits including a fifth-inning RBI single to pace Greenville. On the mound, Curtis (1-1) surrendered seven runs -- six earned -- and eight hits over five innings to take the loss for the Braves, who have dropped 17 of their last 25 games.
