CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 2003--Centerprise Advisors, Inc., the nation's 14th largest accounting, tax and consulting firm, has named James B. McGuire as the firm's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. McGuire is responsible for leading the strategic direction, integration and performance of Centerprise Advisors, a leading provider of accounting, tax and consulting services to middle market companies, government and not-for-profit organizations. Based in Chicago, Centerprise has 22 offices and 1,100 professionals in the U.S., with affiliates in more than 40 major business centers throughout the world.

Mr. McGuire succeeds Robert C. Basten, who founded Centerprise in 2000 and served as CEO until August 2002, when he stepped down after being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Mr. Basten has since founded The Playing to Win for Life Foundation for ALS Research.

Mr. McGuire's business career, which spans nearly 30 years, includes experience with integrating and building high-performance professional services organizations. Mr. McGuire has designed and implemented advanced business strategies in professional services on both a national and global basis.

Before joining Centerprise, Mr. McGuire served as Executive Vice President of BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting), a publicly traded, global leader in professional services. Prior to his role at BearingPoint, Mr. McGuire served KPMG Consulting as its Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman for both its U.S. Consulting business and its Global Consulting business. Under Mr. McGuire's leadership, KPMG's Global Consulting business achieved $4 billion in total professional services revenue.

Mr. McGuire received his B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana.
