Andigilog, a fabless analog and mixed-signal semiconductor company that focuses on highly accurate temperature sensors for the cellular, personal computer and industrial markets, announced that it has closed a $4.2 million first round of funding.

The financing was led by Valley Ventures of Scottsdale, Arizona and joined by Mission Ventures of San Diego, CA. The company intends to use the funds to market its existing products and to further expand and develop its product line.

"Mission Ventures has shown strong returns and investment leadership in a number of technology markets, and we welcome the participation of such a top tier partner in our initial round of funding," said Carl Liepold, founder and CEO, Andigilog. "Andigilog will continue to ramp the demand for our highly accurate temperature sensors, a number of which are already available to and sampling at manufacturers."

Mission Ventures' Robert Kibble will join Greg Adkin of Valley Ventures, outside directors Bill Pohlman and Bill Sheppard, and CEO Carl Liepold on Andigilog's board of directors. Kibble has more than 20 years of venture capital experience focusing on early-stage information technology companies. He currently serves as a director of a number of private companies, including BizRate.com, Bullrun Financial and DispenseSource.

Andigilog was founded in 1996 and began shipping temperature sensors in 2001. Temperature sensors have an estimated annual market of U.S. $1 billion and are used in devices or subsystems that monitor temperature in notebook and desktop PCs, cell phones, PDAs, and peripheral devices such as printers or battery packs. Other applications include automotive electronics systems, industrial control systems, consumer devices such as DVD players, set-top boxes and games, camcorders and cameras.

The company is sampling the aTS20, aTS50, aTS51 sensors and the aTS75 low-voltage, ultra low-power temperature sensor. Sample packs and cross-reference design information are available by contacting Andigilog at www.andigilog.com or by calling 480-940-6200 ext. 36.
