| Cavaliers ink Kevin Ollie
CLEVELAND, July 17 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday signed veteran point guard Kevin Ollie. Terms of his deal were not made public. BizVantage – Beyond the news: when knowing counts. Ollie, who split last season between Milwaukee and Seattle, averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 assists in 26.6 minutes per contest. "Two key components of our plan for this summer have been to add veteran leadership and improve our point guard position," said General Manager Jim Paxson. "Kevin plays tough defense, can be a solid mentor for some of the young guys, and is someone that plays a very smart, efficient game night in and night out." Ollie, 6-2, led the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.04) last season. He has career averages of 4.5 points and 2.7 assists over six NBA seasons with nine different clubs.
