| Seven killed in S.Korea helicopter crash
SEOUL, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Seven South Korean soldiers were killed when their military helicopter crashed into farmland Thursday. The UH-1H helicopter crashed in a rice paddy and exploded at Yeongcheon, near the country's third-most populated city of Daegu, 200 miles southeast of Seoul. Adaptive intelligence for a serious advantage: business, investment and technology- BizVantage! "All of the seven persons on board were found dead," a Yeongcheon police officer told UPI by telephone. Their names were withheld pending notification of their families. There were no casualties on the ground, he said. The helicopter went down shortly after taking off from an Army base in Yeongcheon on its way to Daegu, the military authorities said. The reason for the crash was not immediately known. In another incident Tuesday, two U.S. Army aviators died when their C-12 twin-engine aircraft crashed near Pyontaek, 36 miles south of Seoul.
