QB Ray, LB Kidd among CFL Players of Week

TORONTO (Ticker) - Quarterback Ricky Ray of the Edmonton Eskimos and linebacker Carl Kidd of the B.C. Lions were among the CFL Players of the Week named on Tuesday.

Ray, the Offensive Player of the Week, completed 20-of-23 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-20 win over the Toronto Argonauts.

Kidd earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, recording three defensive tackles last week in a 48-4 win over the Calgary Stampeders. He played with both hands bandaged due to surgery and needed to insert pins into his fingers.

Defensive end, Shonte Peoples of the Saskatchewan Roughriders garnered Lineman of the Week honors after recording one quarterback sack and eight defensive tackles in a 29-24 loss to the Ottawa Renegades.

Toronto defensive back Bashir Levingston, who had two punt returns and four kickoff returns, captured the Specials Teams award.
