Under the agreement, TNS will deliver SS7 signaling and intelligent network services and provide a single point of access to SS7 services across the TNS network. TNS will work closely with NewSouth to meet the signaling requirements to support their continued network growth.

"To meet our SS7 requirements, we were looking for a company that would offer a collaborative, customer-focused approach as well as total management to support our continued network growth," said Amy Gardner, Senior Vice President of Network Planning & Provisioning, NewSouth Communications. "TNS was the logical choice. With proprietary hardware and software specifically designed for efficiently transporting and monitoring network activity, TNS delivers the innovative, cost-effective solutions that are necessary to maintain our competitive edge and grow our bottom line."

TNS' SS7 network supports more than 100 carriers and provides the technology, diversity and capacity necessary to manage the traffic requirements of growing carriers. TNS manages and supports a full range of SS7 services for its carrier customers, providing nationwide LATA coverage and access to a wide array of Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) services such as wired and wireless Local Number Portability (LNP), Caller Name (CNAM), 800, and Custom Local Area Signaling Services (CLASS).

"We are pleased to be serving as a partner to NewSouth as they continue to expand their network reach and deliver innovative services that highlight their focus on technology and their end-users," said Barry Toser, Senior Vice President and General Manager, TNS Telecom Services Division. "By leveraging TNS' innovative architecture, NewSouth is realizing the benefits of greater network control, total management, and reduced costs. Our partnership with NewSouth will allow us jointly to develop new ways to merge today's newest transmission protocols with longstanding SS7 switching technology."
