Two-time former champion Lindsay Davenport of the United States has reached the finals of the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California.

Davenport, the third-seed defeated 19th-seeded Nathalie Dechy of France in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6. This is the fifth time Davenport has made the final at Indian Wells. Last year she lost in the final to Belgium's Kim Clijsters.

The 1997 and 2000 tournament champion goes for her second singles title this season against the winner of the night match between world number one Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium and Anastasia Myskina of Russia.

In men's play at the tournament, U.S. Open champion Andy Roddick of the United States takes on Britain's Tim Henman while American James Blake plays a quarterfinal match against Irakli Labadze of Georgia.
