The defendants are accused of carrying out or taking part in the blasts that ripped through three crowded restaurants, killing 23 people, including the suicide bombers.
Each of the men is believed to have played a different role in the extremist Muslim group, Jemaah Islamiah, accused of organizing the attacks.
The defendants are said to have sheltered one of the three suicide bombers and helped make, supply and transport the explosives.
If found guilty, they could face the death penalty.
