The U.S. men's Olympic basketball team gave up most of its 14-point fourth-quarter lead against Turkey before winning the exhibition game in Istanbul, 79-67.

Turkey used several three-point shots to outscore the U.S. team, 19-8, late in the game. The hosts were within three points, 68-65, with three-and-a-half minutes remaining. But the U.S. squad filled with National Basketball Association players turned up the defensive pressure to win. Tim Duncan led the United States with 16 points and Allen Iverson scored 13, the only Americans in double figures. Ibrahim Kutluay led Turkey with 19 points and Serkan Erdogan added 17.
