It was the first victory for the home-country driver in nearly 15 months, since capturing the Argentine Rally in May 2003. Driving a Peugeot, Gronholm completed the final 95.22 kilometers in four special stages in 45 minutes, 38.8 seconds.
With seven events remaining, fourth place finisher Sebastien Loeb of France is the season points leader with 66. Petter Solberg of Norway is second with 44 points, while Martin and Gronholm are tied for third place with 42.

His three-day race total for the 383.7 kilometer rally was three hours, seven minutes and 16.1 seconds. That was 34.7 seconds faster than Markko Martin of Estonia. Spain's Carlos Sainz was third.
