Disgraced U.S. baseball legend Pete Rose will finally be inducted into a Hall of Fame.

But instead of being honored for his skills on the baseball field, he will be praised for his work in the squared circle.

World Wrestling Entertainment says Rose will be one of 11 new inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame. Ceremonies will take place March 13 in New York, one day before the WWE's biggest professional wrestling show of the year - Wrestlemania 20.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon says Rose will be honored for his three celebrity appearances at past Wrestlemania shows.

Baseball's all-time hits leader, Rose agreed to a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball in 1989 amid an investigation into his sports gambling. He admitted in January that he bet on baseball while managing the Cincinnati Reds. Because of the ban, he is not eligible for baseball's Hall of Fame.

Also being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame is former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, who worked as a pro wrestler and actor before turning to politics.
