Dechy beat Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic, 6-3, 6-2. In the quarterfinals, Dechy faces countrywoman Stephanie Cohen-Aloro, who advanced when her opponent, Paola Suarez of Argentina, pulled out with a leg injury.

Meanwhile China's Shuai Peng upset second-seeded Tatiana Golovin in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Peng faces Poland's Marta Domachowska in the quarterfinals. Domachowska defeated fifth-seed Ai Sugiyama in three sets 6-2, 6-7, 7-5.

Sixth-seed Karolina Sprem of Croatia made the quarterfinals with a straight-set win over Jie Zheng of China 6-4, 6-3. Sprem takes on Madagascar's Dally Randriantefy, who ousted over Julia Vakulenko of Ukraine 6-3, 6-4.

Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues ousted seventh-seeded Amy Frazier of the United States 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. The Spanish player faces Russian Vera Douchevina, a straight-set winner over Emilie Loit of France 6-3, 6-1.

The clay-court tournament is a key warm-up for the French Open, which starts Monday in Paris.
