It took extra innings, but the Boston Red Sox notched another win against their rival New York Yankees in Major League Baseball action Saturday.

Mark Bellhorn drove in the winning run in the top of the 12th inning to give Boston a 3-2 win in New York. The Red Sox have beaten the Yankees in five of six of their American League contests this season.

New York's newly acquired star, Alex Rodriguez, hit his first home run of the season to help the Yankees rally in the seventh before the team's efforts fell short.

Meanwhile, Detroit's Rondell White hit a game-ending three-run shot in the ninth inning to give the Tigers a 5-2 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Toronto's Frank Catalanotto drove in the winning run in the top of the 12th inning as the Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-4.

Saturday's other AL winners were the Devil Rays, Angels, Royals and Rangers.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays downed the Chicago White Sox 4-1. The Anaheim Angels powered past the Oakland Athletics 6-3, and the Kansas City Royals got four RBI's off the bat of Carlos Beltran in a 10-1 rout of the Minnesota Twins. Also, the Texas Rangers shut out the Seattle Mariners 3-0.

In baseball's National League, the defending World Series champion Florida Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves for the first time in five meetings this season. Jeff Conine hit a two-run homer in the Marlin's 7-4 triumph over the Braves in Miami.

Philadelphia pitcher Randy Wolf homered, drove in another run, and tossed a four-hit shut out to lead the visiting Phillies 7-0 over the struggling Montreal Expos.

Chicago slugger Sammy Sosa homered, and pitcher Kerry Wood struck out nine batters, as the Cubs blanked the New York Mets 3-0.

Houston pitcher Roger Clemens struck out seven batters for his 314th career win, which ties him with Gaylord Perry for 15th on the all-time list. Clemens also drove in two runs.

The Cy Young award-winning pitcher now has 4,125 career strike-outs, and needs just 11 more to match Steve Carlton for second place on the career list.

Other NL winners Saturday were the Brewers, Reds, Giants and Padres.

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1, the Cincinnati Reds erased a four-run deficit to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-7, the San Francisco Giants topped the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3, and the San Diego Padres pulled out a 4-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
