Japan's national football team and three-time champion Iran have advanced to the semifinals of the Asian Cup football tournament in China.
Iran pulled off the big upset of the day with a 4-3 win over World Cup semifinalists South Korea. The Iranians got three goals from Ali Karimi and will take on hosts China in the semifinals on Tuesday.
The third place game is August 6 in Beijing. The final is August 7, also in the Chinese capital.
